Readiness Model

The readiness model defines how strongly a capability is implemented. It complements the baseline by adding a notion of depth and maturity.

Levels

Level Meaning

Missing

Capability is absent or not considered.

Weak

Present in an ad-hoc or unstable form.

Partial

Implemented but incomplete or uneven.

Solid

Consistently implemented and production-usable.

Strong

Well-optimized, proven, and stable under real conditions.

Interpretation

The model should not be used as a simplistic score.

A system may intentionally remain at a lower level in some dimensions if those dimensions are not critical for its context.

Evidence

Higher levels typically correlate with:

  • clearer runtime behavior,

  • stronger observability,

  • repeatable outcomes,

  • and reduced hidden coupling.
