Quality Baseline

The Quality Baseline defines the shared language used to describe system quality across the Smartresponsor ecosystem.

It does not prescribe that every system must implement every pattern. Instead, it defines the vocabulary against which systems are understood and evaluated.

Scope

The baseline covers recurring system concerns such as:

  • scalability and capacity,

  • availability and reliability,

  • data architecture and consistency,

  • API and communication models,

  • observability and operations,

  • and security and access control.

Purpose

The purpose of this baseline is not to enforce uniformity.

It exists to ensure that when systems are discussed, evaluated, or compared, they are described using a consistent and explicit language.

Key Properties

  • The baseline is context-aware: different systems may emphasize different dimensions.

  • The baseline is comparable: systems can still be evaluated against shared axes.

  • The baseline is non-dogmatic: it avoids prescribing a single architecture.

Relationship to Readiness

The baseline defines what exists in the vocabulary.

The readiness model defines how well it is implemented.

Outcome

The result is a documentation layer where quality discussions are less ambiguous and more reproducible across components and over time.
